A core charge is a deposit that is added to (or if on our importecautoparts.com catalog, included) in the cost of the remanufactured item. Core charges are added on to most remanufactured items, such as alternators, calipers, starters, remanufactured climate control unit, as they are sold on an exchange basis, which allows the remanufacturer to rebuild your old unit, and keep the cycle going. Cores must be returned intact, the same way you received them - ie: with a clutch, pulley etc, and with an undamaged (cracked or broken) outer housing or casing.
Cores must be returned intact in their original packaging (manufacturers box – i.e. Bosch / Programma etc), as well as double boxed with an outer brown cardboard box. Your core will be inspected to determine if the core is rebuild-able. Cores that are not returned in their manufaturers packaging will not be accepeted or refunded.
